Tall Oregon Grape (Berberis aquifolium)

A native evergreen shrub from the Pacific Northwest known for its holly-like leaves, bright yellow flowers in early spring, and tart blue-purple berries that follow. It is a hardy, low-maintenance plant that can grow up to 8 feet tall and provides habitat for wildlife. The berries are edible and are often used for jams, wines, and medicinal teas, while the roots have been historically used by First Nations for dyes and remedies.
