A coastal shoreline iris, adaptable to various soil types and tolerates coastal salt spray. Thrives in wet soil and shallow water. Has beautiful swordlike foliage with purple-blue flowers in May/June.

Typically grows between 1-3 feet tall.

Thrives in consistently moist to wet, fertile, well-draining soil, thriving in bog gardens, pond edges, damp borders, containers and rock gardens. Ideal conditions include a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6-7) and high organic content. It adapts to sandy, clay, or loam soils but dislikes heavy, dry clay.
