Woolly Sunflower (Eriophyllum lanatum), often called Oregon Sunshine, is a tough, drought-tolerant native perennial, perfect for sunny, dry landscapes, rock gardens, and erosion control. It produces bright yellow, daisy-like flowers on mounding silver-green foliage from May to August, attracting numerous native bees and butterflies while deer resistant.
Soil & Sunlight

Sun: requires full sun for optimal growth, ideally 6 to 8+ hours of direct sunlight daily. While they prefer bright, direct sun, they can tolerate partial shade. High sun exposure promotes robust growth, while too little may cause weak, leggy stems.

Soil: thrives in dry, well-drained, nutrient-poor, and often sandy or rocky soils, requiring full sun for optimal growth. It is highly drought-tolerant, adapted to rocky outcrops, coastal bluffs, and open woodlands. The soil should be loose and not require fertilization.

Plant Size

Woolly Sunflower typically grows 6 inches to 2 feet tall and spreads up to 2 feet wide.
