Sedges (Carex spp.)
Numerous species of sedges (genus Carex) are native to British Columbia, commonly found in habitats ranging from coastal dunes to wetlands and forests. Examples of BC native sedges include Large-headed sedge (Carex macrocephala), Slough sedge (Carex obnupta), and Foothill sedge (Carex tumulicola)
Sedges are firesmart plants for zones 5-9
