This low-growing, succulent plant is abundant on the coast, particularly on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, where it can be found on dry, sunny rock faces and cliffs.

Soil: Thrives in well-drained, coarse, sandy, or gravelly soil with low nutrient levels. It also prefers dry, rocky areas and can tolerate a range of soil types, from chalk to loam, as long as they drain well.

Height: Grows up. to 2-8 in. tall (5-20cm) and 12-36 in. wide (30-90cm).

Garden Design:

Ideal planting conditions are rock gardens, containers, garden edges, areas with rocky or poor soil, and even green roofs. Can make a lovely groundcover. Drought-tolerant and can handle very dry conditions. Protect from excessive winter wet.
